There was a blonde driving down the road one day. She glanced to her right and noticed another blonde sitting in a nearby field, rowing a boat with no water in sight.

The blonde angrily pulled her car over and yelled at the rowing blonde, â€œWhat do you think you’re doing? It’s things like this that give us blondes a bad name. If I could swim, I’d come out there and kick your butt!â€

I was a wide eyed young white liberal not so long ago and believed that the death penalty was fundamentally wrong, after all , how was killing another human being going to make things right. Call it â€œold ageâ€ or the slow sickening of my spirit by what I read and see in the news on a daily basis that has me re-thinking my positing.

Does a man that brutally rapes an innocent seven year old girl for hours on end and then slowly strangles the life out of her deserve to carry on breathing the same air as me , and what does it say of us, as a society that lets him, was her life that cheap that he does not deserve the ultimate punishment ?.
Hard questions I am fighting with.
